Its Foveon. The X3 chip reads all colors at each sensor and processes them
later which yields a greater resolution of approx. 3x that of conventional
sensors.

You are confusing color with resolution. Processing the color is after the
image is captured.

Yes, in time it will do for digital what AF did for 35mm.
