The image is like a cropped 35mm frame.  My 16-35 on the D60 does 
still give the 16mm distortion on the wide end like it would on 35, 
not less like a 24 does.  Just the nature of the optics.

I have found that my 24 1.4L is a great lens on the D60.  That lens 
is really sweet and the really fast aperture coupled with the ability 
ot white balance almost any kind of light means available light 
photography is possible again with no wacky colors.
