That was not the question. The question was "So at what megapixel will it
take to equal or surpass a 35mm 100 ASA
film speed grain?" I answered it comparing Analog print to digital print. It
doesnot bother me that there are members on the EOS group that feel
otherwise. Hey, I still use film myself, but the results I see from a 6MP
camera are amazing. THe output is great and yes it is convenient as many
clients are asking for digital files these days and not just a print. So I
will stick to my comment which is simply to say that if you print a 20x24
directly from film it will not be as sharp as the same size from a 6MP
digital sensor. If you want to prove it to yourself, download the raw fil
Canon has on thier website from the D60 into PhotoShop and enlarge it to
30x40 and you tell me. You can see the fine blond hairs on the bottom lip of
the model.
With film you could do this but you lose some when you transfer the image
from the negative to the paper since you have to do sop through another
lens (enlarging lens).

So if the D60 is so good then why is that new image sensor (Forovan ???)
being released ?
In the side by side pictures that I have seen the new 3 color chip beats the
pants off any other 35mm type sensor (Not sure about mf scanning backs
though ?)
So surely this means that all the other sensors (be it Canon, Nikon or
whoever are not producing images that are of a true (Color) nature !
I am far from being a expert on the above matters, But surely this new chip
renders all/most other chips redundant/out of date !
Please, As I state above I am no expert on the matter, But I just think that
this new chip/sensor really shows just how poor the other Canon, Nikon,
Minolta, Whoever's chips/sensors really are !
I will be sticking with my 1v and eos3 for the time being !

P.S.
Sorry for the VERY late reply, I have been rushed of my feet for the last
couple of weeks and I am only just starting to catch up with the posts :-)
