LOL...ok, yeah, it is a big deal when you put it that way.  ;)  Luckily, I
test my equipment before I take it out, so I discovered it before anything
serious happened.  Besides, if such a vital shot appeared, I could still use
manual focus, like the "old days."  Like the curmudgeons say, "In my day..."

BTW, other than this snafu, the lens is pretty nice, especially for less
than half the price of the Canon equivalent...too bad Sigma replaced it with
a much larger model.
