Hi Jim,

The 1v uses evaluative, centre-weighted, partial, or spot metering. For the
purposes of this test I had the camera in Manual mode and read the scale in
the viewfinder to set exposure. From memory I think it uses evaluative
metering while in M, it could be centre-weighted though. I generally do use
either evaluative or spot metering for most of my work and add exp. comp. as
I see fit.

I think using a handheld meter effectively needs some time and research
spent on it. I didn't find it hard to use but am a little puzzled by some of
the results, like overexposing the backlit subject when the reflective meter
didn't ?

I'm too busy stressing over digital storage issues to go back to worring
about exposure metering.
