Hi Chip,

I don't think you're nuts to have both lenses. Well, IF you're nuts because
of that, I'm also. That may well be, though ;-) I have the 85/1.8 and
200/2.8,
but I'm still searching for a good used 135/2. Now, THAT must mean I'm nuts
squared, I guess. ;-) The 200 is also quite useable for portraits, IMHO.
For some faces the longer focal length can really be of great help :-)
Indoors I prefer the 85mm for it's shorter working distance, though.

Hi Thomas,

Well maybe you're nuts too! Good EF 135 2L lenses in good condition is
really easy to find, it's hard to find one that isn't in good shape. The
reason is because anyone selling an EF 135 2L didn't use it much and anyone
who shoots with it on a regular basis would never think of selling it!

I too think 200mm is a good length for portraits and often use an EF 70-200
2.8L for this, but if I have the room I will usually make the jump up to an
EF 300 2.8L. If I can find enough space behind the subject and shoot at
f/2.8 with enough shutter speed this lens is to die for! Gorgeous
backgrounds and incredibly sharp tight heads that pop out of the film! Ah,
but you do need a lot of room between you and the model and lots of space
behind the subject for it to really work. The only bummer is that your arms
can get really tired if you are going to be shooting this way all day! 8^)
Of course you could use a monopod like I sometime will do but I prefer to
work it sans support if I have the light to do it.

Cheers/Chip
