No, that argument doesn't hold, real pro's use multiple bodies 
instead....;))))
It still doesn't explain why Canon made it an CF/SCF *option*....I 
don't think I *ever* changed film in midroll....
(though I am plagued with the subsequent problem of finishing a roll 
partly shot at holidays & such....it always delays me dropping off 
the films at my lab, until I found subjects/scenary worth shooting 
(spoiled of course during holidays....;)).
 
But perhaps we overlook the technical problems of reverse 
loading....the geartrain & motor must then be capable of powering in 
both directions equally fast.
(not even sure if pulling in reverse can be done reliable, at higher 
speeds....the cartridge/reel is then part of the gear-train 
(otherwise normally only during rewind).
