Just wondering, why Canon (or any 3rd party) hasn't made a wide-angle converter for smaller-than-film digital bodies?
I'm no optics guru but it would seem a fairly simple thing to make. There'd obviously be some loss in optical quality due to extra glass, presumably comparable to that of tele-extenders, but I could live with that. Obviously wide-angle converter for film bodies (or full-frame digital ones like 1Ds) is impossible, but for smaller sensors I can't see any big problem, in particular it could be designed to exactly counter the cropping effect of the sensor size. If such a thing was available at a price comparable to TCs, I'd expect it to sell like hotcakes to D60 and 10D owners. Am I missing something here? Is there some technical reason it'd be more difficult to make than TCs are? -- Tapani Tarvainen * **** ******* *********************************************************** * For list instructions, including unsubscribe, see: * http://www.a1.nl/phomepag/markerink/eos_list.htm ***********************************************************
