Hi Chip,

I got that from your previous posts which was why I posted my opinion on the
convertor. Without having done any tests on newspapers or walls (are you
listening Alex :^) ) I have found that it is a perfectly acceptable
combination for my application. The combination of 70-200IS + 2x is
something I rarely use as I have the biiger lens anyway, but the few times I
have combined them I have gotten an acceptable result. I tend to use
extenders and filters as little as possible, particularly when using really
sharp glass like this lens, but it does make for a good cheap and light
alternative to carrying extra lenses. I would certainly suggest the series
II over the earlier version. If I get time this week I will setup a shot,
tweak it as you suggest, and put it on a web page for you.

BTW, I used the new 1gb Lexar card over the last 3 days and didn't notice
any difference in transfer speed over the Sandisk Ultra's - but that's just
my "seat of the pants" feel at this stage. Extra speed would have been a
bonus but I'm happy just to have the extra capacity at a good price ( thanks
B&H ). Looks like I'll have to order another to use the rebate they sent
with it for 2gb of Lexar CF cards. I would send the rebate card to you but
don't think you can use it as the invoice is in my name.

Regards, Tim
