Keith, I second, third and fourth Chip's advice. Flatbeds are a waste of money for scanning film.
I did have a Linoscan/Heidleberg flatbed that was great for 5X5, 5X7 and 8X10 transparencies. It cost a lot of money and was horrendous on 35mm slides and not so hot for 6X6 either.
