Btw, did anyone notice that the latest version of Minolta's digicam 
(DiMage 7hi) with fixed 28-200mm equivalent) now also comes with a 
mechanical IS-system....however not stabilizing a lens element, but 
the CCD itself?

This also adds fuel to an old EOS discussion about IS build into 
teleconverters, instead of the lens....;))

Or: why would anyone want it in the teleconverter, if you can have it 
in the body instead?....:))

as the current 200/2.8, so that I still can store it upright in my
