Hi Gerard,

There may be some disadvantages in using an ST-E2 in place of the OCSC2,

The ST-E2 and Sigma EF 500 Super are about the same price. With the former,
you get a replacement for OCSC2. With the latter, for the same price, you
have the beginnings of a two-light Wireless E-TTL system.

And you can continue to use the OCSC2 on a flash bracket, you can get very
nice twin lighting, with automatic ratios, or even manual power control:

Julian,

Thanks! You released the 'doubt worm' and after solving some internal dilemas, I just called NY-Camera to change my order to a 550ex instead of the ST-E2. As the ST-E2 was my birthday present, the 550ex will be birthday & xmas present all-in-one :-) (just like all my aunties used to do when I was a kid)
Luckily they didn't have the ST-E2 in stock and I could change my order with no problems at all.

Next week I'll be multi-ratio-wireless-digital freaking arround :-) :-)

It's not only good to have discussion but it's even beter to take actions from the logical conclusions.

-kind regards,

Gerard.
