As a side note, I ran across the Canon 14mm f2.8L lens on eBay last year listed as "Like New In Box" with a "Buy It Now" option for $1,195 (US). I bought the lens and couldn't be happier, especially, at that price. I couldn't distinguish it from a brand new lens straight off the shelf. $1,195 was still a lot to spend, but it was difficult to pass up at that price, especially from a seller with an excellent eBay rating. I'm one of those guys who is pretty much stuck on Canon gear as opposed to third party these days, although I've owned many third-party lenses in the past (and still have a few on my shelf). Guess the point is, I got this one for not much more than the Tamron and Sigma equivalents as stated by Wilber. I think it was worth waiting for.
