Hi

I've had similar problems when dealing with Canon Canada and warranty work.
I was having problems with a 28-135 not autofocusing properly, it took
Canon 3 tries and almost 3 months before I had a lens that almost works
correctly. I live about 1600 km (1000 miles) from the service centre, so I
was unable to "be in their face" about this problem. Canon's eventual
response was they felt "the lens was working with specs for a consumer
lens".

Just my 2 cents.

Rob
