Oh btw, in Canon nomenclatura there are only 3 factors/elements that
make a lens L, and mechanical construction is not one of them....
Best sample is the TS-E range; only the 24mm is L, 45mm and 90mm are
not.
It did look quite 'worthy' to me (just the focal range doesn't match
anything we know in the pro-lens range, but with improved zoom-ranges
(and compensating for smaller chips in some cases) that 'association'
gets harder and harder anyway)
