Good grief no. Amazing the questions we get sometimes. Canon is far
superior to Stigma.

Now, as to the difference between a prime and a zoom, this has been
covered everywhere many times. Of course the zoom will be inferior.
But the prime doesn't zoom. You decide what's more important to you.
How severe a difference in quality - it's very likely most people will
never see the difference. It's also that the difference will not
matter to most people.

I personally would go for the zoom. Smaller and lighter for one thing.
More flexible for another.
