1. Buy a 10D 2. Buy a lens 3. I will want the 1D2, wait a few months (since waiting lists are absurdly long), and plan on picking it up later in the year and making the 10D a backup body.
That's my strategy as well, although I'm waiting 2 years before my next digital. I'd like an EOS-3/1v class machine and for less than $2000. At the way prices are dropping, that should be around 2 years.
