I have also tried with windows XP but it's impossible
to see the 10D has mass storage device in Explorer...also I have tried to
change the
"Communication" option form "Normal" to "PTP"......but none....
I have also changed the 10D driver from TWAIN to WIA
from the site http://www.powershot.com/powershot2/customer/driverdown.html
but it still didn't works, any more idea ?????

Yes an USB reader is a good solution but is another gadget to bring with
you....
