I still have a D60 that I use. The AF in daylight and even under
modeling lights works fine. SLOW, but fine. The outer two sensors are
not as accurate as I'd like them to be. My biggest problem with that
body, and I imagine is the same with the 10D and D30 is the smaller dark
viewfinder. When shooting full length shots of people it's impossible
to tell if the image is in tight focus. When I use it now, I'll focus
manually and shoot a handful of images while making slight adjustments
in the focus. Shooting tight head shots is fine, I still use manual
focus most of the time because I just don't trust that AF sensor
anymore.

As for noise on a D60, I've never had a problem with it. I accidentally
shot some portraits at 400 is in the daylight the other day and the
images look great. The exposure is dead on, if it were underexposed the
noise would come out. I also use Capture One software to process the
images, but over all the D60 makes some great files.
