DP Review typically lists lag times for both AF and shutter in their
in-depth reviews (which they have not yet done for the S1). Typical total
lag time for virtually all current non-interchangeable lens cameras ranges
from .4 seconds at the wide end to > 1.5 seconds on the telephoto end. To
that add a 10x zoom and I would expect the S1 to be at least that slow, the
Pro90is certainly was.

Your "good old Nikon 990" had a measured total lag of 1.8 seconds
(telephoto), so it was right in the middle of the pack.
