Do you mean you make your living from it? Or you enjoy it strictly as an amateur? How long have you been taking pictures? What lens do you use for basketball? I'll still disagree because I know I can shoot in any basketball lighting with any lens in my kit and a 10d. Using an extreme aperture and DOF would surely put many images out of focus or without enough in focus to be effective. We can surely disagree, but you can't pull the wool over my eyes about fast lenses people. I've been shooting almost 40 years now and have had plenty of fast glass in that time. And besides, this is all just my opinion, you can have your opinion too, just don't tell me I'm wrong, just as I'm not saying anyone else is wrong. Just that I don't agree. Let's just be honest, in MOST cases fast lenses are not needed, and are basically status symbols of shooters who produce MOSTLY whimsical self gratifying art, if they even shoot at all.
