So, what are your opinions, when
will we read an announcement for a
successor for the 20D?

My guess is that we should see a 20D replacement in between November
of this year and April of 2006 if Canon maintains their current 14-18
month release schedule. Right now they have little competition for
the 20D so they're not in a hurry (and the 20D has enough problems
caused by its premature release that they would be well-advised to
take their time and debug the next camera fully).
