Hi Y:

How much are you looking to spend? I like my 85 f1.8. But recently, I got
myself a 135 f2L and think that's awesome in terms of bokeh and sharpness.

just my 0.02,

Gary

Subject: EOS Lenses for Elan?

Hi All,

I am new to the Canon EOS world; bought an Elan 7e for a song - need a
*short* rundown or a pointer to one on lenses please. Mostly
portraiture, people, street.
I played with a Tamron 28-70/2.8 (with a bunch of funny letters, e.g.
EX or something like that) and was very pleased with the performance.
Very nice rendering, low distortion and bokeh at 70 albeit angular in
highlights was quite good. I shoot b&w negs and color slides.
I read happy reviews on 85/1.8 USM - that's all I know for now.

Most of my portrait shooting in 35mm has been done with manual
Minoltas and Voigtlander 90.

I am trying to figure out whether to go ahead and start piling up the
"stuff" which I try to avoid

Thank you in advance.

Y
