Hi
Was pricing the EOS 1ds NC-E2 charger for the NP-E3
NIMH battery pack. I was flabberhammered by the price
those chargers command. For some reason, a used one
can sell for up to 250. Was wondering if anyone knew
anything about the charger. Is it special in some way.
I noticed the output is a rectified 14.5 volts. Since
anyone with a transformer a couple of caps and a few
diodes and resistors can producr a power supply that
can prouce 14.5 volts, I was wondering if there's any
reason i couldn't just whip one up and hang the dead
battery on it for a couple of hours. Also, are generic
chargers available?
Any opinions are greatly appreciated.
Javier
