Photo.net has a good comparison between the 50/1.4 and 50/1.8 II:

I'd go with the f/1.4 as far as the AF performance is concerned. The
lenses that allow full-time manual focus seem to focus significantly
faster than the lenses that don't. At least that's been my experience.
