---------------------------------------------------------------- Hi Jim, Just a note. When both are shot wide open, there are no aperture (iris) blades involved. The design of the 50mm F1.4 lens itself provides better bokeh which may in reality be helped by the added speed of the 1.4 lens. Only when you start to stop down the rounder 7 bladed iris on the 1.4 is involved. Then the clear winner is the 1.4.
