I know that specific lens hoods are customized for each lens, but I was wondering if anyone knew if some hoods were interchangeable. In particular, I would like a shorter hood for the 180 macro lens. The ET-78II hood that comes with the lens really sticks out and reduces working distance. I was looking for a compromise, a hood that would fit but was shorter in length, which is better than no hood at all.
Is there a way to determine, without buying or trying, which hoods will actually fit on which lenses?
