OK, I figured out that part of the naming of the lens hoods corresponds to their size. For instance the ET-78II hood for the 180mm macro will interchange with EW-78BII hood for the 28-135 lens. Note that all lenses with a 72mm filter size have close to the same number, 75,78 or 79. The 85/1.2 takes an ES-79II hood. By "interchange", I mean it will fit, not that it is a useful thing to do. Not sure if a 79 will fit on a 78, but they are probably close.
