I have used the same bellows type lens shade on the medium to long lenses of my four camera formats. The shade was marketed by both Ambico and Spiratone and named "the Shade +". Both companies are long gone now, but this type lens shade would be a good solution for you.

Buy a spare original hood and cut it down to the size you want, or cut down
one of the rubber ones.

And I suppose we could argue that technically, the hood doesn't change the
working distance, it just fills part of it. :)
