Well, if everyone would just use emacs to edit their email...
I have some good macros to edit and quote with.

In this message I am both top-posting and bottom-posting and
middle posting, with judicious editing of the original quote.

Now, the next question is, do you hold your breath when you
take a photo? I tend to exhale slowly, which also works best
when shooting underwater.

I find this EOS list rather mild compared to a lot of corporate
posts I have to deal with, with all manner of colored text, different
sized fonts, and signatures that take up more space than the
messages, followed by the requisite corporate statements on
email usage.... I use Eudora, and often re-edit the emails using
Ctrl-A followed by Ctrl-Space, which clears out all the formatting
so I can just read the message. Compared to the corporate world
I have little I can complain about with the way people post here.
Just imagine what it would be like if html were allowed?

However one decides to post, I think the most considerate posts
are those that <snip> non-relevant sections of a quote. If the entire
quote is left as is, I rarely read it. Why should I dig through it to
figure out what the person is specifically responding to?

If one wants to be heard, proper presentation helps. I don't
believe there is one right way. If someone is going to leave the
entire previous message quoted, I prefer top-posting. If the
previous quote is edited, I prefer interspersed or bottom posting.
But in general, I prefer clarity posting.
