Hi Steve,

Bummer about that i9900 printer but lucky to get a Canon CS rep who
understood what they needed to do and made the right call to keep you in the
fold. Don't Canon printers get new print heads with a new ink cart? Epson
has always been into the fixed printhead design which makes for precise head
alignment but means the heads are expensive to replace due to the durability
demands compared to the limited life print head that is changed each time
the ink cart is R&R'd. Just wondering.

I've owned and used a few Epson photo printers over the years including
R800, 1280S, R2200, R2400 and soon an SP3800. I've never had to call Epson
for any reason, guess I just got lucky. This is not to say I have not had
an occasional print head clog after an extended period of non-use but common
sense and a little patience has always resolved this issue for me. Of
course I've learned the trick is to just use the printer at least a couple
of times a month and you'll never have a problem with printhead clogs.

HTH!
