On 22/5/07, Jane Waters, discombobulated, unleashed:

>Cotty, if you're flying a "normal" transatlantic flight, you will be
>fine. The Pelican is well
>within the allowable size for the overhead compartments. In some older
>planes, the hatches don't
>open wide enough to allow larger bags in, but at 7.25 inches high, you
>should not have that issue.
>However, if you are carrying your laptop (since we live in a digital age

>it in your Pelican. Otherwise, you will have to check it. Heathrow is

>carry-on bag, and I don't know if they're currently honoring the "one
>carry-on and one personal

Thanks to Jane (and others) for posting replies.

Yah, the PowerBook goes into the Peli no problem if I remove the lid
foam and stash it in checked baggage for the flight. Later, the PB goes
back into it's own case (actually the removable laptop compartment from
a LowePro Stealth backpack).

Thanks for the reassurance.

I'm heading over to NC for the Grandfather Mountain Nature Photography
Weekend. Anyone from the EOS list going? It's a blast and beautiful
scenery to boot. highly recommended.

I must remember to tell you the story about the rabbit ears ;-)
