Steve, your problems may not be over. I just went through a similar issue
with my Coupe and had to replace the fuel pump. The blockages in your
system
may return, if they do I would suggest you remove the pump and take it
apart. Mine was so corroded that the corrosion was blocking the 1/16
restrictor hole on the outlet. When I took it apart I was stunned at the
amount of corrosion, and bought a new pump. The corrosion was both under
and
on top of the diaphram, no matter how much I cleaned it I could not get it
all out, so a tiny part would separate itself from the main body and block
the tiny hole. Keep a keen eye on the header tank gauge. I would strongly
recommend all you Coupe owners out there pull your pump at annual and
instead of just checking the screen, as the AD requires, take it apart and
see what you find. Also when you get a new pump, break the safety wire and
tighten the screws, they will be loose. I am going to have the corroded
one
blasted with baking soda and keep it for emergency use only. By the way ,
good luck finding a pump for $300, I believe mine was $377 with shipping,
but the service by John at Skyport was great, it was here the next day.

Subject: [COUPERS-TECH] Fuel pump problem fixed.

Good news.
The fuel pump problem with my Forney was not
a fuel pump problem but a blockage in the return
line to the fusealge tank.

I found that out by temporarily installing some 1/4 inch clear plastic
fuel
line in between the fitting and the fuel lines forward of the firewall and
watching what happens.

I also installed another piece of clear line on the return inlet to the
fuselage tank. It was easy to spot the problem right away. It only took
abut an hour to access all the parts and clean out the blockage. (I used a
piece of safety wire to push through the blockage.

Now I just have to re-install the instruments and add a few cotter pins
and
safety wires on several parts of the plane, and then IWR will be flying
again after two years of work.

I am very pleased the pump did not need replacing. After all the work I
would be hard pressed to afford the
300 US for a new one.

Thanks to all who offered advice.

I will report on the first flight very soon, and have some pics for any
interested.
