Oh, I most certainly agree! I'd want life vests and perhaps more (like a quick inflate raft) with me if I went over water very far. I was just curious to if there were any direction on the matter in the regulations. You have peaked my interest in regulations that I presume are related to flying to the Bahamas. Where would I find them? I rent a Tampico (SOCATA TB-9) that has made the trip out a few times and may try the feat myself. As for my particular 'coupe, I don't know if I could go to a US territory... I know I can't go out of the country (as in Mexico or Canada) without special permission as I have the small "NC" numbers. In part 91, I see requirements for large/turbine aircraft and another list for "for-hire" flights... But neither would apply to me I guess.
