Subject: RE: [COUPERS-TECH] On carb ice

Definitely different than my O-200 w/ MS 3-SPA carb.   The carb heat gate control is on the left of the air box with its own control cable and knob.
The mixture is on the rear of the carb, and the throttle is on the right of the carb. They all work independently of each other.
>>>Like a Cessna 150, from which the STC was derived.

I have, on more than one occasion, accidentally pulled the mixture instead of carb heat while down-wind in the pattern.  That of course got my attention and invoked pilot rule #1: when you change something and you don't like the results, change it back!
>>>There is also a similar rule:  "When you move something, keep your hand on it.  You might have to move it back real quick like."  Yes, that happened to me in my Cessna 150 too.

I have yet to experience carb ice (even with lots of Minnesota flying).
>>>Give my regards to Russ, Wilbur, and all the Many-Snow-Ta `coupers.

>>>Percy in NM, where he went right after Minneapolis, MN
