Fred,
I think that the factory may have linked
the power and carb heat for a while.
But then Fred Weick almost lost the plane
when landing at an airport with an over-water approach. After he investigated,
they removed that interlinkage.
It seems that partial carb heat,
controlled via that kind of interlinkage, may cause MORE carb ice and some of
it at critical times.
It’s been 20-25 years since I heard
Fred tell that story so my memory is fuzzy. I’d solicit information from
others.
Nevertheless, I’d disconnect the
interlinkage and have separate controls.
