Continental Service Bulletin M47-16 covers the conversion of these engines. Originally published on December of 1947, the bulletin prohibited the conversion of a C 75 or C 85 to a C 90. However after several revisions Continental issued Supplement No.1 to the Service Bulletin on February 26, 1960. This supplement specifically allows the conversion and identifies the changes necessary. The Service Bulletin and Supplement No. 1 may be found at:

My undated copy of a Skyport Ercoupe Service Manual indicates on page 58 (Engine Conversion Installations) that Skyport has a FAA approved STC for the conversion.
