Most importantly, you are safe and without permanent injuries. I read about the incident here: http://www.wlox.com/Global/story.asp?S=5863937&nav=6DJI I've personally wished there was a way to have a separate brake system for each wheel. Then, if a hose gave out or something, you could still get some braking from the other wheel while using the nosewheel to maintain direction. Again, glad to hear you are okay. A real bummer about the 'coupe. You've only had it for a few months (got it in May, right?)... Think you'll get another? - Jason ________________________________ From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Friday, December 29, 2006 10:06 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [COUPERS-TECH] Re: Digest list: Ercoupe Technical Discussion (moderated) ----[Please read http://ercoupers.com/disclaimer.htm before following any advice in this forum.]---- Ercoupe Pilots, Sadly, I must report that 1946 Ercoupe 415C, ser # 2644, N2021H has made its last flight. A brake failure combined with slick mud and a ditch at the end of a private field in southern Miss., 8 miles south of KHSA claimed my graceful old bird. The mishap occurred 2 days ago. I'm working on all the FAA and NTSB paperwork now. When the nose wheel slipped into the ditch she flipped over on her back on to a paved road. I crawled out, the cuts and scrapes minor compared to the massive damage to N2021H. She'll never fly again.
