I solved the immediate problem by bleeding a few drops of fluid out of
the
left brake; then the brake seemed to release and operate normally.


I have seen this happen on cars. Where the inner lining of a flexible
line, breaks and collapses under pressure creating a check valve effect,
locking the brake.
