Jim.
If you think your Coupe has a climb performance of a freight elevator with a 49
pitched prop, I wonder what you would call my Coupe with a McCauley 7152 . This
is really the least climb performance possible.

I was watching the other day some Ultralights climbing out on the airfield and
was stunned to see them climbing like kites, hundred feet above the runway at
midfield. My plane is still on the ground then, trying to make speed.

Although ones in the air, I really like it. It flies fast, making 110 indicated
at times and I fly speedy with half throttle.

My brother has a C85 with a McCauley 7150 and this seems to me a good
combination.

The common pitches for Coupes with the C-85 engine are:

    7146 extreme climb prop
    7148 normal climb prop
    7150 "normal" prop
7152 "cruise" prop (unless you're too heavy...

I have a C-85-12F and somebody repitched its prop to 7149 before I was
involved. If I were able to pick, I think that's the one I'd like, and in fact,
I do like it - my climb is a little bit like a freight elevator, but OK and the
cruise isn't superb but also OK, at least as near as I can tell. The tach seems
to think it's OK. I've got less than 100 hours in it, so I have a lot to learn.
