J-3 and j-5 Cubs have the rudder cables exposed.

Thanks, Kevin. I have one other potential source other than the long lead time 
part from Univair. Let me know about the availability of you guard. I am most 
worried about the steel reinforcement plates at the moment. I will have to 
scrub this part of the project if I can't get them or fabricate them by 
Wednesday. They want my Ercoupe out of the hangar (and so do I).I was wondering 
if you had concerns about having the rudder control cables open in the cockpit. 
It probably is a silly question, since the rudders aren't very effective in the 
first place. My A&P/IA suggested it wasn't necessary from an airworthiness
