1. Where are you getting these numbers?
2. Does anyone think that by recertifying it as a D model will make it fly any
better?

Does the jetting and an oil pan baffle add 12 pounds to a C75?
Seems to me the gear and prop was certified with the airplane and is included
in the empty weight from the factory.
Generators weigh more if their allowable output is increased?
ELT's are an unfortunate necessary evil.
Dirt yes, but how much?

If we want to keep it light what we need to look for is the unnecessary
instrumentation, old wiring left over and the horrendous interiors these things
have grown over the years.

Thanks to all who responded and yes, weighing the plane as a pre-buy is a
VERY good idea.

Here's a few things that increased the weight of my bird:
  C-85-12 Engine - 12 lbs
  Metl-Prop - 26 lbs
  6.00 x 6 Gear - 28 lbs
  ELT - 3.7 lbs
  Landing lights - 4 lbs
  25a Generator - 14 lbs
  O-200 Eng STC - 4 lbs
add in a nice paint job and hidden dirt and you have a plane that doesn't
like hot high air. The main issue is that it needs to be recertified as a 415D
