I'm wondering why the subject of fire prevention/control has not been addressed more.
Simple things may be the best prevention. Things like insulation on the fuel lines, redundent fasteners on the fuel lines to keep them away from the exhausts in case one fastener comes loose. Maybe new fuel lines if the present ones are getting older. Replace the glass gascolator with a metal one. The glass could break in a fire and add fuel to the flames. Check the dial on your cabin fire extinguisher more often. Add a second fire extinguisher. I wear nomex flight gloves to protect my hands in case of a fire. The ones I have are very comfortable.
