I just did my Lycoming 0-235 and had to buy new pistons, wrist pins, and rings
separately. That brings it up to about$1300-plus per cylinder. You will need to
have rockers re-certified. and may need new push-rods.  A good new gasket set
will be about $100. It is worth doing right.  My new Coupe is like a rocket.
Hate to be bearer of bad news, but you need to plan on this.

If I were to do a full top overhaul and the existing cylinders appeared
to be 1946 vintage, I would order new ECI titans from www.JJairparts. com.

Looks like they are $828.00 each. These include just about everything. You may
want to upgrade to no-blow exhaust gaskets. They include an already completed
337 for the valve rotator upgrade.

The cylinder baffling is an origami...takes a bit to get it back right.

I would plan on 3-5 days to remove and install new cylinders. Find a A&P to
supervise your work. Get the continental Cylinder wrenches, an overhaul manual
and go to town.
