I got ECI Titan cylinders on mine last year and it cost 5K. He did a fantastic job. Opened up the case, made sure everything was in spec., painted it, new gas lines, new baffling. My mechanic is very reasonable, has worked on C-85s for years. I helped disassemble and reassemble the cowling and install the CHT gage. Darick 94139 415-C

Definitely plan on more man hours than 10. If you are using a mechanic who is not familiar with the Ercoupe/small Continental baffling system, the time can grow quite rapidly. I would recommend getting a fixed cost for removal and reinstallation of the cylinders. If your mechanic is familiar with the engine, the fixed cost portion should not be a problem. Reusing the old cylinders can reduce the costs, but be sure to find an engine shop that is familiar with those cylinders. Lynn Nelsen In a message dated 2/12/2010 9:57:17 A.M.
