Words can be confusing here, the felt goes towards the outside of the aircraft, make sense? I did not try to glue the felt, I glued basically the back part of the channel only, allowing the sides to flex and hold the window tight. Seemed to work quite well that way. I used 3M weatherstrip cement, and if one glued the sides as well as the back, it woulb also be tricky to get the welting all the way to the back of the groove. I used strips of cardboard to hold it into position while it set up
