After the wake closes (which is a complicated subject all by itself), it's
usually found necessary to bleed a bit of gas into the base to keep base
pressure above ambient, until ambient drops to the point where this stops
being much of an issue. The historically-popular approach is to dump the
turbine drive gas there.
