Since you want to have a firewall, the ether from school will go directly to the firewall, whether it be a 486, your current desktop, or some nifty router/firewall device. You mentioned your router: most are simple, but if yours has a built-in firewall and dhcp server like the linksys etherfast product, you're set. If your firewall is a PC, then the 2nd ethernet card in that system will go to the router, which will be your local network. Cheers Ben
