Got numerous usb2 ports, so it shouldn't be a prob.
And yes, a freed-up pci slot would be ideal--but I can't see how to

Why don't you list the cards that you have in PCI. We might be
able to make some suggestions.
OK, my mo'bo has 4 PCI slots. Bottom two are taken up by my video
capture/playback cards (analog); next up is a SCSI interface card
(system disk is a scsi cheetah--fastest hard drive on my machine);
fourth is taken by my firewire card, which also has four USB2 ports
built into it.
Have heard of an IDE/USB adaptor--but I've never heard of a SCSI/USB
adaptor.
Any and all suggestions welcome.
Another friend who's not exactly what I'd call a nerd--though he's
hardly cyber-illiterate--has been using a USB dongle for a couple of
years now and loves it.
