So many thing to think about here. Here is something I haven't heard talked
about "driving slower" . would you consider it? May be think about your
project from another point of view. lets look at a middle of the road
conversion 20 to 24 6v ( as your are not making a hot rod) in a light car .
Now make your driving and driving habits fit the car(not the car fit the
driving ) This might mean driving slower, finding a place to plug in while
at work, and installing outs lets at your friends houses. There are some
great ideas for car set ups being talked about but I am worried that it
might start seeming like to much trouble(one pack two packs let me just have
a 6 pack and forget it) when with a little practice it would work. You are
about to light a EV candle in a dark room (as dark and black as oil)and see
things in a new light. Are you going to be able to get your head inside this
car when you got this big EV grin going ear to ear?
build the best car you can and then learn to live with it. What are the
chances you won't be happy with it ? probable less than 1/100 . I had lots
of ideas of what I was going to do to make my first EV work like putting a
generator on the lawn mower engine but when I got it together I found I
could adjust my speed to give me the range I needed.
Back to earth ,How many gallons of gas do you use a day to do your driving
? How maney mpg dose your car get?
